We are so happy to have worked with Jennifer for our kitchen renovation. She helped turn our cramped, disconnected 1920’s kitchen and dining room into a bright, open, functional space. She expertly guided us through every single logistical and design detail and communicated everything so quickly and clearly during the whole process. My kitchen and dining area, including the removal of a wall, were long overdue for a makeover. I knew this would be a big job. I had a very rough idea of what I liked, but no true designs in mind. Since my initial meeting with Jennifer Hutton, I have been so impressed and grateful for her ability to create my dream kitchen. She gave me options, patient explanations, and her process of helping me choose cabinets, countertops, colors, hardware, sink, etc was systematic and purposeful. The time she spent with me was always productive and the end result is beyond my wildest expectations! I highly recommended Jennifer!
WOW, we don’t even know where to start but let us just say that Jennifer was a savior during our kitchen renovation. Not only did she take us out of our comfort zone and design one amazingly gorgeous kitchen, that we love so much, she was there with us and for us every bump of the way. We had an A-typical renovation that saw so many major bumps along the project. Jennifer was right there and provided help at every step. Jennifer is so professional, knowledgeable, easy to talk with and overall a great person. You can tell Jennifer takes amazing pride in the work she does and it clearly shows. After seeing and being blown away by our full house renovation by Grau Building Co., my friend asked me if I pinched myself every time I pulled up to my house and walked through the door. I am not a pincher but I do smile every time—it is truly my oasis! The stunning result which has become our new “old” house was directed by Jennifer Hutton’s (Grau Design Studio) cutting edge design, attention to detail, and excellent project management skills. We are so grateful that Jennifer had the patience and good humor to teach us enough about good design so that we could confidently go with her bold choices where they would make a statement. We have a chandelier which Jennifer called “the wildcard” and a repurposed vintage arm chair with oxford blue fabric and coats of arms. On elements like the backsplash, we were guided to go with a better choice rather than a popular choice. In our garage turned rec room, I can tell you the pictures do not lie! The Grau Building Company team translated Jennifer’s vision into the stunning new home that we feel so lucky to call ours! Or maybe it was not luck but that we were smart enough to collaborate with a building and design company who listened to what we wanted our home to be and made it happen while keeping budget in mind. We witnessed their unique knowledge in the field when the whole team (in-house team and subcontractors) put their heads together to find solutions to some of the surprises that an old house can share as you are going through the renovation process. We experienced and witnessed the mutual respect that they gave us and everyone associated with our renovation. Their project management and excellent communication skills made what is considered a very stressful time a not so stressful time and dare I say lots of fun at times. Oh and did I mention that our renovation finished on schedule (maybe even a couple days ahead of schedule). The investment we have made in making our old home new again has turned out to be a really good one thanks to Grau Design Studio and Grau Building Company.Load more
